It's time for a new challenge at Yumi & Fumi's house and it's all about punches and dies. The most aaahhhhhhhmmmaaaazzzing thing to announce is...that I ACTUALLY made something for this challenge! LOL! It takes me hours to do the simplest of cards and I usually end up staying up very late trying to figure out what to do. BUT...HERE it is! Leanne convinced me to git er dun and I did ;)
I used Prismacolor pencils to color in our very happy Fumi w/ Umbrella. It's windy and all the ginkgo leaves are twisting and twirling around her as they fall from the trees. The ginkgo leaves are made from two different size punches that can be found at Hanko Designs. I used the Carl brand punches, as I think they have a much nicer finish. The paper used for the leaves is from my solid color scrap paper box and I have NO idea where each came from :) The card itself is kraft paper and the sentiment is my sorry-excuse-for-writing attempt at having the sentiment wind around with the leaves. I would almost say it was a fail, but...my once again very supportive buddy Leanne Poe gave me props and encouraged me not to think of it as a fail.
I added this lil' pic, too, because the little swirly dotted lines I made with the Stardust Gelly Roll pen to represent the wind kicking up all around the leaves isn't really visible in my other pic.
So, there you have it! I hope we get lots and lots of people to join in on this challenge. It begins February 3 and ends Friday February 15 and there is of course a cool prize up for grabs if you win!!!
If you haven't joined one of our challenges before (or even if you have), be sure to check out our blog at Yumi & Fumi Handmade Crafts to get all the details on challenge rules. Or I believe the appropriate blog lingo would be to get all the "deets" there. Hehehe...I'm learning...
So, now it's time for bed for me. But before I leave for dreamland, be sure to spread the word that Yumi & Fumi have a Facebook page now!! We are striving to hit 200 Likes and when we do we're gonna give away a Yumi & Fumi Handmade stamp! WHUT!? Yup. Happy Sunday everyone!
Aloha always,
Renate'
